WKCR Jamboree - July 18, 2006
In the tradition of the great radio shows of the 'golden age' like the Grand Ole Opry and Loiusiana Hayride, every third Tuesday of the month (thereabouts) we have our live WKCR Jamboree.
Our next live WKCR jamboree will be July 18th. We have lined up, in addition to our great house band that includes Sheriff Uncle Bob, Danny Weiss, and Mary-Olive Smith, one of our local favorite bands, the Dixie Bee-liners. They have a great new album out and I'm sure they'll be playing a few numbers off it.
Unfortumately for us New Yokers, this will be kind of a farewell appearance for the Bee-liners as they're relocating down to Tennessee. I'm sure we'll have them on Honky-Tonkin again, but if you want to catch them before they go, listen in Tuesday July 18th at 10pm on WKCR 89.9 FM NYC and www.wkcr.org on the Net. And if that doesn't fill yer belly, you can catch them for their farewell New York show on Wed July 19 at Mo Pitkins House of Satisfaction in the East Village NYC.
